Diagnosis: Slipped Disc

Treatment: Surgery

 

My dog, Kurumi, is a 4-year-old Papillion mix who I rescued when she was a puppy. She is my best friend and gives me a reason to get up in the morning.

 

In June 2019, Kurumi slipped a disc in her back and was in excruciating pain. I was told by her surgeon that the longer it took for her to have an MRI and surgery, the less likely were her chances of walking again. At the suggestion of the surgeon’s office, I applied for a grant from Lexi’s Legacy and my application was approved. Kurumi had a hemilaminectomy surgery in June 2019.
